Pursue an engineering-based degree in graduation such as B Tech or BE.  
Pre-final year students are also eligible to apply for this scheme.
Attempt and pass the Technical Graduate Commission Exam to join the Indian Army as an Office.r    
Pre-final Year students of B Tech and BE will have to clear University entry scheme Exam.
Judge Advocate General (JAG) Entry SchemeChoose science stream with Physics and Mathematics subject combination.  
Pursue graduation in Law related streams such as LLB or Integrated LLB.

Career Opportunities in the Indian Army

Combat Units – Confrontation of enemies in the war field is done by combat Units. Categories such as Army Armored Corps, Infantry, Territorial Corps, and the Regiment of Artillery comes under Combat units.

Ordinance Corps – Military Equipment and their utilization is done by the Ordinance corps in the Indian Army.

Air Defence Unit – The duty of the corps assigned this role is to protect our nation from attacks through the air. Protecting weapons owned by our nation and rendering support during disasters are other responsibilities given to the Air defense corps

Engineering and IT Department – Indian Army’s one of the oldest job roles is the corps of Engineer and it includes corps from combat engineers and Military Engineer Services. The Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME) provides technical assistance to the Indian Army by infusing the latest technology with innovation and necessity.

Army Service Corps – The main intention of formation of such a group in the Indian Army is to render adequate services to other divisions in Army. They also provide efficient training to candidates who newly join in Indian Army as Soldiers.

Education Department – The Education officers bridge the education and skill-related gap in individuals who join in Indian Army by designing better training modules and implementing them effectively.

Signal Regiment – Effective transmission of communication links especially during wartime is managed well by the signal regiment of the Indian Army. Electronic warfare is exclusively dependent upon the signal regiment.

Intelligence Corps – Collection of necessary data that are confidential in nature and its effective maintenance is done by Intelligence Corps

Postal Services – Postal requirements of the army including general correspondence and Money orders are effectively catered by officials who are working under the postal services of the Indian Army.

Judge Advocate General – All the legal matters pertained to the Indian Army are handled by Judge Advocate General.

Physical Standards to Join in Indian Army

If you are an SSB Interview cleared candidate, then there will be a medical examination before joining the training institute. Certain physical standards are prescribed by the Indian Army for aspirants who want to join hands with it. Some of them are listed below.

  • Bones and Joints must be free from diseases
